1.  Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I got my high school diploma before I moved to Seattle and Seattle Central Community College is the only school in the US, which I have been attending so far. I am a really open person. I spend a lot of time studying, but when I am free I like to play sports. I like to play badminton, soccer, volleyball, and basically any kind of sport.

2.  Why did you decide to attend Seattle Central?
I decided to attend Seattle Central because my friend recommended it to me. He just said come here and I did.

3.  What has been your experience in being a part of Seattle Central or being involved in the community?
Seattle Central creates an excellent environment for International Students to study and get involved in activities.  I am not involved in any volunteer work but I am involved in student clubs and organizations at school.  I am the president of the badminton club at Seattle Central.  I help coordinate tournaments and events and also help setup for them.  I am also involved in other student clubs at school like the Vietnamese club.  I am very impressed with the diversity and the dynamics of the school.

4.  What are the biggest differences between the life style in your country compared to life in Seattle?  How did you adjust?
I don’t really think that I feel any big differences except the weather. However, I like Seattle’s weather, so it is not a big deal for me. It’s very clean in Seattle so I feel like my life is better here. I just like it.

5.  What are your future plans after Seattle Central?
I plan to finish my Bachelors in Petroleum Engineering. I was born in Vietnam and in the province I was born in the Petroleum industry is very important. It is good for the economy as well so I am looking forward to it. I want to work for an Oil Company after graduation. If I find a good job here then I plan to stay, but if I find a good job in Vietnam, I plan to go back to Vietnam.

6.  What things have you done to reach your personal and academic goals?
I got involved with some Clubs at school to develop my transcript. Of course, I have to study hard too. I spend a lot of hours studying outside of class. I compare notes among different instructors, and I also look for more information about the things I study in class to master my skills. Being a tutor for the college also helps me to maintain and enrich my knowledge. I tutor at the learning center in school. I do it because I enjoy it. I feel that when you tutor, you can review a lot of things for yourself. That’s one of the reasons I like tutoring, plus a few of my friends tutor as well.

7.  How has studying abroad changed you?
It has changed my concept about science subjects. It is not as simple as I thought when I studied in high school in my country. I understand things more deeply. Studying abroad also helps me to become more mature and independent.

8.   What are your favorite things to do in Seattle?
Outdoor activities are what I am really interested in doing when the weather is right. Besides that I like to hang out with friends, watch movies, go shopping and eat Thai food. There are a lot of fun things to do. However, I always keep myself busy with school work.
